The London Muay Thai scene

Muay Thai in London is spread across the boroughs. The useful map is the gyms that publish an address and a price.

London Shootfighters trains at Unit 4, The Atlip Centre, Atlip Road, Wembley, HA0 4LU, opposite Alperton on the Piccadilly line. Muay Thai is on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings. The gym says the KO team teaches it, and that former world champion Bill Judd set up KO Gym in London in 1976.

London Fight Factory is at 19 Ebenezer Street, N1 7LU, a two-minute walk from Old Street, with Muay Thai alongside boxing, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, wrestling, judo and MMA. Sabaidee Muay Thai Academy is in the same pocket, inside New City Fitness on Redvers Street, N1 6NE. Thai Fighters LDN is just off the A13 near Barking, and says founder Coach Lukas is a licensed UK kickboxing and Muay Thai judge and referee.

Hitman Fight League lists 18 April 2026 at indigo at The O2, SE10 0ES, doors at 3pm. The O2 also lists YOKKAO 53, presented with Hitman Fight League, on 24 October 2026, doors at 1pm.

When to go

Classes are indoors.

Heathrow’s Met Office averages for 1991–2020 put January at 8.4°C by day and 2.7°C at night, and July at 23.9°C and 14.2°C. Rain is about 615 mm a year, 39 mm in March and 67 mm in November, on about 112 days with at least 1 mm. July has about 218 hours of sun and December about 55. Air frost averages about 27 days. The State of the UK Climate 2025 report says days over 30°C in Greater London were more than four times as common in 2016–2025 as in 1961–1990.

Late spring to early autumn is the straightforward window for running. July is the warm month in those averages.

What it costs

These are published gym prices, not a London average.

A drop-in is £15 at Thai Fighters and £20 at Shootfighters, London Fight Factory and Sabaidee. London Fight Factory sells two trial classes at £7 if you live or work in London. A first class at Shootfighters is free for new visitors.

By the month, Shootfighters is £45 plus £6 a class, £85 for Muay Thai and kickboxing, or £99.99 unlimited, with no joining fee. Sabaidee is £60 for two classes a week, plus an open mat, or £95 unlimited, plus £20 to join. Thai Fighters is £90 for three Muay Thai sessions a week, or £125 a month all-access, £345 for three months and £600 for six. London Fight Factory is £80, £95 or £130 for two, three, or four or more classes a week. The £130 plan includes weights. Its terms add a £15 joining fee and six months before the plan goes monthly.

A hotel is separate. VisitBritain’s June 2026 Greater London average daily rate was £262.39. RSM, using HotStats, put July 2026 at £274.40, with occupancy of 88.4%. Knight Frank’s first-quarter 2026 HotStats sample, weighted to branded midscale, upscale and luxury hotels, was £214.10 at 71.4% occupancy. For a month, the Office for National Statistics put London’s average private rent at £2,332 in August 2026. Bedroom figures reported from that series are £1,760, £2,232, £2,643 and £3,646 from one bedroom to four or more.

Where fighters stay

No survey says where fighters stay.

Old Street covers London Fight Factory and Sabaidee. Alperton covers Shootfighters. Barking, off the A13, is where Thai Fighters places itself. A few nights can be a hotel at the daily rates above. A training month is a tenancy, and £1,760 is a London-wide one-bedroom average, not a rent next to one gym.

How to choose a gym

• Confirm it is Muay Thai and that sparring is optional. Shootfighters puts sparring in its own short block.
• Add the joining fee, £0, £15 or £20 on these sites, and any minimum term. London Fight Factory states six months.
• Cost the journey at the time the class ends.
• Get a private rate in writing. It is not on these pages.
• Use the trial before you pay a month.
• These pages describe mixed classes. Ask if you need a women-only hour.
