Muay Thai Glasgow covers Port Dundas, Polmadie, Drumchapel, Thornliebank and the university, on different trips.
Everyday Athlete, 100 Borron Street, Port Dundas, G4 9XG, lists adult Muay Thai Monday and Wednesday at 17:30 and Tuesday and Thursday at 18:30, plus kids aged 7+ on Tuesday and Thursday at 17:30. Glasgow University Muay Thai spars there on Saturday, 13:00–15:00, trains on campus Tuesday to Thursday, and lists fight nights on 13 November 2026 and 26 February 2027.
Glasgow Fitness in Thornliebank runs Muay Thai beside boxing and MMA. Keep On Pushing, Unit 40, 37 Rosyth Road, Polmadie, G5 0YD, offers a free adult class, a free women-only class and a free kids trial. Its about page has no prices.
Deachkalek’s Instagram places the gym at 436 Kinfauns Drive, Drumchapel, G15 7NE, with classes Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 18:30–20:00, ages 13 and up, and kids on Saturday at 10:00. The account calls it home to Scottish, British, European and intercontinental champions. New Era lists Unit 4, 12 Huntershill Way, Bishopbriggs, and a free first class in 2026.
When to go
Met Office averages for Glasgow/Bishopton, 1991–2020, sit west of the centre. July averages 19.3°C by day and 11.2°C at night. January averages 6.7°C and 1.5°C. Rain is about 1,370 mm a year. May is driest, about 72 mm, and December wettest, about 161 mm. May to August is the least harsh window outdoors. Shows are not weekly. Drygate hosted Strathclyde’s night on 6 February 2026, doors 18:00, tickets £12 plus a fee. The Scottish Open was in Paisley on 29 August 2026, at £25 and £15. Muay Thai Records lists Anarchy Fight Night 10 in Glasgow on 17 October 2026.
What it costs
Everyday Athlete charges £15 for an adult drop-in and £10 for kids. Kids’ months in its 2025 guide are £27.50 or £55. A seven-day trial is £15. Striking membership is £75 a month. Unlimited training is £94, or £120 for one month that does not renew. Ten sessions cost £150 and expire in six months.
Glasgow Fitness lists a class at £10, kids at £6, and Red at £59 a month, £54 on a 12-month rate, or £575 a year. Red includes Muay Thai. Blue, without that class list, is £39. Deachkalek posts £8 cash, £5 for kids and £60 a month. New Era’s free first class is described as a £10 saving. University Muay Thai is £72.50 a year or £42.50 a semester, plus sport membership at £192 or £105. Deachkalek says personal training runs from Friday to Sunday, with no rate on the post.
Time Out’s July 2026 “rooms from” rates run from £60 at the Z Hotel and £74 at citizenM to £145 at House of Gods, £182 at Hotel du Vin in G12, and £245 at Kimpton Blythswood Square. The Times reported Games-week quotes of £408 and £319, against £138 for the same dates the year before.
Where fighters stay
The centre suits Everyday Athlete and Drygate, both in G4. Keep On Pushing is in Polmadie, off the M74, which suits a driver. Glasgow Fitness is further south in Thornliebank. Drumchapel and Bishopbriggs are not a walk from Central station. Hotel du Vin’s higher rate is in the West End, near the Botanic Gardens.
How to choose a gym
- Buy the product that includes Muay Thai. Glasgow Fitness Red is £59. Blue at £39 does not replace it. Everyday Athlete striking is £75. One adult class there is £15.
- Check the trial. Keep On Pushing and New Era advertise a free first class. Everyday Athlete’s week is £15.
- Check age and level. Deachkalek’s evening class is 13 and up. Everyday Athlete’s kids’ class is 7+.
- Read the expiry. Ten sessions at Everyday Athlete last six months. The £94 month renews. The £120 month does not.
- Ask which show if you want to fight or watch.
- Time the ride to 17:30. Port Dundas, Polmadie and Drumchapel are not the same journey in the rain.
