Methodology

These ranks are an editorial selection from the Muay Thai Atlas gym file for this city. They are not a mathematical index and they are not a fresh scrape of Google. Every gym below appears in that file. Gyms outside the file were not added.

The same weights were used in every city:

• Muay Thai specialism (30). A programme built around Muay Thai ranks ahead of a general MMA, boxing, karate or jiu-jitsu school that lists Muay Thai as one class among several.
• Coaching pedigree (25). Named head coaches, Thai krus and documented lineages, taken from a gym website or a reputable article. Coaches who were not named on a page reviewed here are not guessed.
• Fight-team evidence (20). Titles, stadiums and results only where a cited page states them.
• Google rating and review volume (15). Copied from the source gym file, last verified 2026-09-28. They were not re-measured for this article.
• Beginner access and published price (10). Kids or beginner classes, and any price printed in the gym file or on a cited page.

A high review count does not by itself outrank a specialist gym with a documented coach. Where a city has fewer than ten gyms with a credible public footprint, the list is shorter.

1. Alliance muay thai training center

Area: Stoneycroft

Best for: kids

Alliance opened in 2017 at the Old Stanley Meat Market and publishes age groups from 4: Minis, Mediums and Adults, plus a Saturday fighters class. Adult pay-as-you-go is £6.50, monthly Muay Thai is £60, and one-to-ones with a Thai trainer are £30 an hour. The page refers to Thai trainers by role, and the testimonials name Glynn and Chloe, but it does not publish full coaching biographies, so no fight records are attached. The kids structure is the strongest beginner evidence in the Liverpool file. The gym file places it in Stoneycroft. The Google rating copied from that file is 4.9 from 58 reviews. Best for: fighters

Wallasey club listed as Muay Thai and kickboxing only, with a perfect rating and the largest specialist review count in the Liverpool set. A coach biography was not confirmed on a page opened for this ranking. It ranks on a pure striking identity and public reputation, not on an unverified fight team. The gym file places it in Wallasey. Orrell Park gym. The coaches page names John Gillies as head striking and boxing coach, Steve Reeves as head kickboxing coach, Simon Audley as striking and Muay Thai coach, Chris Stringer for MMA and grappling, Mick Stevo as elite boxing coach, Mario Soldado as martial arts coach, and Mike Grundy for wrestling and grappling. No fight records are on that page. The source file lists Muay Thai with Brazilian jiu-jitsu, MMA, wrestling and boxing. It is a general combat gym with a named Muay Thai coach, not a Thai-boxing camp. The gym file places it in Orrell Park. The Google rating copied from that file is 5 from 61 reviews. Best for: beginners

Litherland club listed as Muay Thai, boxing and Muay Boran. The instructors page names senior instructor Arjarn Keith, who says he has trained for more than 30 years under Grand Master Sken and is a grading assessor, and Kru Kris Farrell, who started at this gym 16 years ago and holds an MTQ level 2 second-degree kru grade. The page does not give Keith a surname, so none is added. This is the local Sken Academy page, not a biography borrowed from Hammersmith. The gym file places it in Litherland.
